I was stopped dead in my track yesterday.

I pulled out an old binder in morning that I used as a catch all place. It held articles I read, post cards collected, galleries I visited, and some collage materials. I’ve always kept the binder. I thought some of the articles were interesting and that I’d one day go back to them. I never did. But this morning, I remembered the collage materials — the magazine clippings, I wanted to see and possible use for a couple of new ideas.

I went on the common journey of flipping through some of the materials in the binder, and that’s when I had a holy shit moment. **

Some of the articles had imagery of inspiration that looks uncannily like the inspiration I gathered for monotypes I started pulling last year. I am in a peculiar spot these days as I circle around my ideas…

I feel like things in my work are just as sure as they are unsure. I know I am on the verge of new ideas, and I have more questions than answers. I’ve been here before, and I have to trust this is the process. I’ll continue sharing more as I move through this experience.
